Jeff Monson told who he supports in Russian football
Former mixed martial arts fighter Jeff Monson, who received Russian citizenship in 2018, said that he supports the Ufa football club.
The club from Bashkortostan now plays in the MELBET First League and after 17 rounds takes 13th place in the table.
– To be honest, I don’t really follow football, I rarely watch it. But I live in Ufa, so in Russia I support the local team, Ufa. I was invited to the team’s matches several times, I am familiar with the Ufa medical headquarters – they helped me with the restoration of my back. I also know a few players from there. I wish Ufa good luck and as many victories as possible,” Monson told RB Sport.
US-born Monson is 51 years old and has 60 victories in mixed martial arts. In October, in his farewell fight, he was opposed by the Russian Alexander Ilyasov. The bout was abandoned in the second round when Monson received an illegal kick to the head, the bout was declared a no contest.
