“Fight Emelianenko against Dzyuba? Of course, this is for the sake of hype and money” – Kharitonov
Fighter Sergei Kharitonov reacted ambiguously to the idea of holding a boxing match between football player Artem Dzyuba and Alexander Emelianenko.
Earlier, promoter Alexander Khryunov announced his readiness to organize a fight between athletes.
– Fight Emelianenko against Dziuba? And laughter, and sin. It’s terrible to even hear that. Of course, this will be done for the sake of hype and money. Who would win? I don’t even know anymore. There is always a chance, including Dzyuba, ”Sport24 quotes Kharitonov.
Emelianenko had his last MMA fight in November 2021, when he lost to Marcio Santos. In total, in mixed martial arts, the 41-year-old fighter won 28 victories, suffered 9 defeats, and ended one fight in a draw. In fights according to the rules of boxing, Emelianenko has two victories, a defeat and a draw. In the last boxing match in September, Emelianenko lost to Vyacheslav Datsik at the 13th second.

Absolute world champion in the second lightweight category Naoya Inoue (32-0, 27 KOs) commented on the victory of the fight played on Saturday, December 27th.
In Saudi Arabia, the Japanese representative defeated Mexican Alan David Picasso by unanimous decision and defended his WBC, WBO, WBA and IBF titles.
After the final bell, the reporter asked Inoue whether he should take the first place in the ranking of the world’s strongest boxers, which is currently occupied by Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.
“Mr. Usyk came to watch my fight tonight, but I’m actually not very happy with my performance. I should have done much better. So I won’t say anything about the rankings and I’ll do much better next time,” Inoue admitted.
Usik visited Riyadh to watch the Japanese “Beast” fight and after the fight, he went to the ring to congratulate the champion on his victory.

The strongest boxers of our time – Ukrainian Alexander Usik and Japanese Naoya Inoue – We met in the ring of Mohammed Abdo Aren in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) on December 27th.
On this day, a boxing night took place, the main event of which was the fight in the weight category up to 55.3 kg. WBC, WBO, WBA, IBF world champion Inoue (30-0, 27 KOs) defeated his Mexican opponent Alan David Picasso (32-0-1, 17 KOs).
The fight continued for all 12 rounds and ended with a confident victory for the Japanese “Beast” by unanimous decision.
After the final gong, Usik approached the champion in the ring, congratulated him on his victory and shook hands. Inoue admitted that he was not 100% satisfied with his performance and appreciated the Ukrainian’s place in the ranking of the strongest boxers of our time.
Next year, Usik plans to fight against former American champion Deontay Wilder, and Naoya is considering two options: Junto Nakatani or Jesse Rodriguez.
