Daria Sorokanyuk, widow of world grappling champion and coach Oleg Sorokanyuk, told the details of the tragedy that occurred in Chita.
Sorokanyuk was found dead in the Bridgehead club with traces of suicide on November 10th. According to preliminary data, the reason could be an investigation against another coach, Andrei Yemtsov, who was accused of beating children in the Zhemchuzhina camp during a training camp. Sorokanyuk was a witness in this case.
– The parent called and asked to be called in for a second interrogation. And Oleg was told that this child was recognized as a victim. And this phrase “we were recognized as victims” decided everything. It just burned down in a day, ”the Match TV website quotes Daria Sorokanyuk as saying.
The man was 31 years old, Sorokanyuk won international grappling competitions and taught pankration and mixed martial arts.
