A Russian fighter killed a passerby with one blow. The athlete faces a huge prison term

The philosophy of most martial arts does not accept excessive aggression in cases where the life and health of the defender is not in danger. He repulsed the attack, neutralized the enemy – and calmly went his own way. However, the young Siberian athlete, it seems, failed to learn these rules.

A Russian fighter unexpectedly attacked a stranger right on the street and killed him with one blow. He won’t get out of jail anymore.

Deathmatch

In June 2022, outdoor surveillance cameras captured a man who, swaying, moved unsteadily along Lazo Street in the city of Tomsk. Perhaps shortly before this he entered the conflict. At least the same camera recorded that a young man cheerfully overtook a slowly walking pedestrian.

The first did not hide from the chase and, turning around, was ready to face the danger face to face. The pursuer, without protracting the dispute, without any preludes, knocked out his age counterpart with one blow. As the investigation later revealed, the knockout master turned out to be a citizen born in 2002, who is engaged in one of the sections of martial arts. His victim was a 54-year-old man.

It is unlikely that the young fighter intended to kill his opponent, but he definitely did not think about the consequences of his actions. In other cases, people after a missed blow and a fall get up and even avoid any serious health problems. However, in this case, unfortunately, everything happened differently – the age of the deceased man, as well as his condition, could play a role in the tragic outcome of this skirmish. Judging by his gait, the stranger was tipsy.

One way or another, after an attack on a passerby, an athlete, if he did not conceive of a grave crime, was obliged to provide first aid to his victim, or at least call an ambulance. Instead, the fighter hurriedly left the place of the battle, apparently afraid of the outcome of this “duel”. The victim with a head injury ended up in a medical facility, but it was too late. They didn’t manage to save him.

For several months after the incident, the young man apparently lived quietly – in any case, he did not contact the police. However, law enforcement officers did not forget about the crime: they interviewed witnesses, studied CCTV cameras and, in the end, recently found a suspect. The man was detained at the exit from the house, and a few hours later he confessed to his deed. Now he faces up to 15 years in prison under article 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Intentional infliction of bodily harm resulting in the death of the victim.”
