At the beginning of his journey, Usman did not leave anyone a chance. The Brazilian is very unlucky!
On November 19, all fans of mixed martial arts will face a loud confrontation. Khabib’s cousin Usman Nurmagomedov will take on the veteran Patricio Freire, better known as Pitbull, for the Bellator lightweight title.
Usman, 24, faces the biggest and toughest challenge of his career against the Brazilian. And the Dagestan fighter can be inspired by his last victory over the representative of Brazil.
In 2019 Usman destroyed Gabriel Baino. After such a knockout, Nurmagomedov’s rival decided to end his career …
Knocked down and destroyed
Usman Nurmagomedov began his professional career as an MMA fighter in 2017. And unlike most of the wards of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, the father of former UFC lightweight champion Khabib, Usman’s base is percussion equipment – he has been engaged in Muay Thai since childhood.
In the first four fights in the professional field, Usman left no chance for his opponents – four early victories. The next opponent of Nurmagomedov was the experienced Brazilian Gabriel Baino, who began his professional career nine years earlier than Usman. Before the fight with the Russian, Gabriel had a pretty good record (6 wins and 2 losses) and was hardly considered by the Nurmagomedov team as a whipping boy.
And at the start of the fight at the GFC 11 tournament with Usman Baino he proved it. For the first minute, the fighters did not force events, throwing sighting blows. However, it was the Brazilian who created the first dangerous moment, failing Nurmagomedov on a front kick and almost catching him with a counter blow. The Dagestan fighter responded with single shots on all floors, but Gabriel snapped quite successfully.
It seemed that the whole fight would go in this spirit, but Usman sharply upped the pace and had a very successful series with the help of knees and straight lines from the hands. Baino withstood the onslaught, but was clearly shocked and after a few seconds went into the clinch, which the Russian used to the maximum. Usman knocked the opponent down and immediately scored with his hands in the ground and pound. Gabriel writhed in pain and covered his face with his hand, after which the referee stopped the fight.
Usman got another confident victory, and Baino, which is especially interesting, ended his professional career after this fight – at the age of 33. At least, on all statistical portals, there are no fights in the Brazilian’s track record after the defeat from Nurmagomedov. After the upcoming fight between Usman and the 36-year-old Pitbull, this story can certainly repeat itself!
