“Shlemenko performed poorly in recent fights, he has no chance against Ismailov” – Vasilevsky
Alexander Shlemenko will not be able to compete with compatriot Magomed Ismailov in a fight at the RCC tournament, MMA fighter Vyacheslav Vasilevsky believes.
The fight is scheduled for December 3 in Yekaterinburg. Initially, these fighters were supposed to meet on August 26, but Ismailov did not manage to recover from the injury by this time.
“Actually, anything can happen. It’s the same fight. Shlemenko has knockout punches and dangerous knees in his arsenal. But if you take everything apart, then I don’t see a chance for him. You have to watch and analyze his last fights. See how badly Sasha performed in his last fights. It speaks volumes about its form.
He had a quick defeat, which could be attributed to “lucky punch”: he missed from the knee and lost. Then – a protracted three-round fight with an opponent of not the highest level, where Shlemenko could not show anything either in the “strike”, or in the wrestling and “functional”. What will happen if in the duel with Maga there will be the same Alexander Shlemenko, who fought in Omsk with the Brazilian. Why win? There is nothing to take Maga with, Vasilevsky told Metaratings.ru.
On account of 36-year-old Ismailov 17 wins, three losses and a draw in mixed martial arts. The 38-year-old former Bellator champion Shlemenko has 61 wins, 14 losses and one draw.
