Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez on Messi: ‘Pray I don’t find him before me’
Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez lashed out at Lionel Messi on Twitter just 24 hours after Argentina’s win over Mexico at the 2022 World Cup, accusing the Argentine star of stepping on Mexico’s jersey during celebrations in the dressing room.
The Argentines celebrated their victory over the Mexicans with glee as they are now one step away from qualifying for the next stage of the World Cup.
A video has surfaced during the celebrations in Argentina’s dressing room showing Lionel Messi stepping on a shirt that most likely belonged to the Mexico team.
Mexican boxer Canelo saw that Alvares and went on the attack via his official Twitter account.
In particular, when addressing Messi, he characteristically wrote “...praying to God that I don’t find him before me…” while he then continued “…just as I respect Argentina, he has to respect Mexico…”
