Tishchenko believes that following the WBA, Russians and Belarusians will be restored in the ratings by other organizations
Two-time Olympic champion Alexei Tishchenko expressed the hope that, following the World Boxing Association (WBA), other organizations would make a decision to restore boxers from Russia and Belarus in the ratings.
The decision to restore the Russians and Belarusians was made at the WBA convention in Orlando (Florida, USA).
– This is very good news. In this regard, another recent decision by the WBA was an indicative moment – to recognize Dmitry Bivol as the boxer of the year. It was the first step. The second was the restoration of our athletes in the rankings. This is a step towards healthy competition and pure sport without politics. What happened, of course, will benefit the audience, who will be able to see the most interesting fights. I hope that other organizations, following the WBA, will issue similar verdicts, ”Tishchenko told RT.
In March, the exclusion of Russians and Belarusians from the WBA ratings was announced.
