Alexey Tishchenko explained the decision of the WBA to restore boxers from Russia and Belarus in the ratings

Two-time Olympic champion Alexei Tishchenko suggested why the World Boxing Association (WBA) was the first of the sports organizations to restore boxers from Russia and Belarus in the ratings.
– It is difficult to say why the WBA was a pioneer in this regard. Probably because it is one of the oldest professional boxing federations. There, people retained a sense of dignity and a clear understanding that sport should remain outside of politics. After all, if you present world champion titles, excluding representatives of such strong boxing countries as Russia and Belarus from the fight, then you devalue them. I would like the WBA decision to become an example for others. Justice must prevail sooner or later. This will benefit the sport, RT Tishchenko quotes.
The decision to restore the Russians and Belarusians was made at the WBA convention in Orlando (Florida, USA).
