The UFC fight turned into a bloodbath. It only took one hit!
Medics pored over the injured athlete for two hours.
Most fans of mixed martial arts are always happy to have a fierce cut in the octagon. And at the recent UFC Fight Night tournament in the USA, the fight of the Mexican Rafa Garcia against the Kazakh from China Hayisaer Maheshat gave such a spectacle to the fans.
It only took one elbow strike!
cut an artery
The mere fact that a Mexican fighter is entering a fight under the rules of MMA already portends a tough fight. And when a young Kazakh from China is listed among his opponents, one should definitely expect an uncompromising massacre. And the expectations of the fighters justified in full!
The first round in this fight turned out to be quite equal, Maheshat looked better in the first half of the five-minute period, delivering accurate blows in the Thai style. Garcia took the lead in the second half. During the fight, the difference in the height of the athletes immediately rushed – Hayisaer was 12 centimeters taller than Rafa, and this factor significantly influenced the course of the fight. It seemed that already in the second round, a fighter from China would achieve dominance due to this advantage.
However, Garcia’s explosive technique and good counterattacks did not allow Maheshat to feel like the master of the cage. But one of the strikes of the Kazakh at the beginning of the second round became really dangerous for Rafa. In one of the episodes, Khayisaer hit his opponent with his elbow in the temporo-parietal region, opening a cut on his head, from which blood immediately gushed out.

However, this did not affect Rafa’s ability to fight and his mood. On the contrary, the incident even provoked him – like a predatory shark, the Mexican felt the taste of blood and gradually began to dominate the battle. Garcia skillfully combined wrestling and striking, and the opened cut filled Maheshat with more blood than Rafu himself. During the break, the cutman closed the damage to the Mexican with Vaseline, but such a “repair” did not last long.
Garcia continued to smash in the standing and ground Hayisaer, washing him in his own blood. Visually, it seemed that the cut in this fight was not opened by the Mexican athlete – almost the entire body of Maheshat was covered with Garcia’s blood from head to toe. As a result, Rafa brought the fight to victory by a judicial decision – an absolutely fair verdict.
What is especially interesting, after the fight, the famous fighter Cub Swanson, who seconded Garcia in this fight, said that with an elbow Maheshat, it turns out, interrupted Rafa’s artery. It took UFC medical personnel nearly 2 hours to stop the bleeding on the Mexican’s head. If the doctor on duty had paid attention to the cut of the Mexican during the fight, it is possible that the fight could have been interrupted. However, fortune was on Garcia’s side that day.
