It became clear who Usyk plans to fight if his fight with Fury fails.
One of the team members of WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs) Sergei Lapin He talked about Ukraine’s backup plan if the fight against WBC belt holder Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) fails.
“I don’t think the WBA requirement for Usyk to fight Daniel Dubois will stand in the way of organizing the absolute title fight between Usyk and Tyson Fury that we all want to see.
We hope nothing stands in the way of this fight, but the opportunity to fight Dubois will be a backup plan if the fight against Fury fails. But that’s not something boxing fans want to see in 2023,” Lapin told Vegas Insider.
It was previously reported that Usyk-Fury could happen in February or March.
