Shakur Stevenson: Lomachenko is old and slow but I want this fight
Boxer Shakur Stevenson, who rose to the 135 kg category, hopes to fight Ukrainian Vasily Lomachenko in 2023.
“I don’t plan on waiting too long at the new weight. A fight, and then already a title fight. I can fight Jemaine Ortiz because he showed himself well in the fight against Lomachenko. But Loma is already old, slowing down, so this is not an indicator. But I would fight Lomachenko, but that will be possible after meeting Haney.
“I think Haney will rise higher and I can meet with Loma. After that, I would like to fight Gervonta,” Stevenson said.
Lomachenko is expected to face Devin Haney in all lightweight titles in the first half of the year.
