Vassilis Topalos laments at 16-year-old boxer’s funeral

The funeral procession of 16-year-old boxer Vassilis Topalos took place on Thursday afternoon (May 1) in an atmosphere of mourning.

Relatives and friends said goodbye to Vassilis Topalos, who died a few days ago, in the Holy Church of Agia Triados in Aspropyrgos.

The 16-year-old boxer breathed his last on January 2 after a fight he had fought in the intensive care unit at Janei Hospital since December 16.

The funeral of Vassilis Topalos was attended by, among others, Deputy Sports Minister Lefteris Avgenakis, President of the Hellenic Boxing Federation Haris Mariolis, President of the European Boxing Federation Yiannis Filippatos, national and club coaches and boxers.

The investigation into the causes of Vassilis Topalos’ death is ongoing until a full clarification is reached.
