One of the best Muay Thai fighters Ekaterina Vandareva recently found herself in a similar situation. The girl went to the extreme step, naked in public, but the organizers still left her without a fight!

Ekaterina Vandareva is one of the best athletes on the planet in women’s Muay Thai. Already at the age of 17, the girl was prophesied a bright future. She won the championship of Belarus, and in 2009 she moved to Thailand. Two months after the move, Vandareva became the world champion – she subsequently won this title twice more. The athlete also has a victory over the famous UFC belt holder Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
Also, Ekaterina was recognized as the best fighter of the World Championship according to the most prestigious version of the International Thai Boxing Federation (IFMA). The prize was presented to the athlete by a representative of the royal family.
Recently, the athlete has been performing in the ONE FC promotion, which organizes fights in various types of martial arts. In the organization, she had several fights, but she could not achieve much success, losing three times in a row according to the rules of Muay Thai.
The girl received the sonorous nickname “Barbie” for her resemblance to the famous doll. On social networks, the athlete regularly shares candid photos with the audience, demonstrating a toned and athletic body.

The result of the last fight, which took place a year ago against Anna “Supergirl” Jarunsak, raises questions from many fans of the athlete. Perhaps the organizers also had doubts, since now they have decided to hold a second fight. For revenge with a Thai rival, Catherine let herself down in a special way.
“I prepared for this fight for a very long time, I did a lot of things, changed my life in order to bring the matter to a fair end,” the athlete wrote on social networks.
But the problem came to the athlete from where they were not expected. At the weigh-in procedure, Vandareva could not meet the weight category. Only 200 grams were missing from the norm. In order to make weight, Catherine even decided to be completely naked. Naturally, she did it behind a special screen.
The organizers even asked to fully stretch their hands up in order to make sure that the Belarusian was not cheating. As a result, judging by the social networks of the girl, it turned out to meet the category, but the fight still fell through!
“My fight with Supergirl is cancelled!” I know how many people have been waiting for it. I could not agree to replace the opponent the day before the fight, also according to other rules. Supergirl, on the other hand, has refused our rematch and will box with Stump. Well, good luck! Perhaps our fight will take place later. Thank you for your support and love, you are incredible! P.S. Weight is not the problem, I don’t race it! — wrote Vandareva in social networks.
Now the further fate of Catherine in the promotion is a big question. Given the refusal and three defeats in a row, the leaders of ONE FC are unlikely to want to invite the Belarusian athlete to tournaments in the future.

The injuries received by British boxer Anthony Joshua in a road accident in Nigeria turned out to be more serious than expected, and the British boxer’s future career is in question, reports the Daily Mail.
On Monday, on a section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the Lexus SUV Joshua was in collided with a stationary truck. It was reported that the 36-year-old boxer, who was sitting behind the driver, received minor injuries and was hospitalized.
Promotion company Matchroom Boxing later said two of Joshua’s friends and team members, Sina Gami and Latifah Ayodele, died as a result of the accident.

Today Sport.ua recalls that 21-year-old Thai boxing master Vladislav Vakulenko, a very positive person, had great potential in the ring, but with the beginning of a full-scale invasion he decided to defend Ukraine. The fighter died exactly three years ago, on December 30, 2022, while conducting a combat mission near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region.
Vladislav was born in Kiev and has been involved with sports since his childhood. Just six months before his tragic death, he received a diploma from the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine and dreamed of major competitions, medals and training future champions. In parallel with his studies, Vladislav trained in Muay Thai. The man hoped to return to training in the gym after the war.
Vladislav Vakulenko took up arms immediately after the Muscovites’ large-scale occupation of his territory. “We live with war! I understand that we live in a historical time when there are real brave comrades nearby, whose soul and body are eager for war… This is a time when you will remain a hero or die a hero,” he wrote on social networks.
His friends and coach remember Vlad as a man of light. He always smiled, joked, supported others, was a master of inspiration, did not make excuses, did not back down from difficulties. The friend wrote: “You’ve done more at this age than some have done in 50 or 60 years.” And Vlad’s mentor, Stanislav Voiten, recalls: “He did his best in training, gave his life in the fight against the invader. I am proud to have known him.”
