Ivan REDKACH: “I’m done boxing”
Ukrainian welterweight boxer Ivan Redkach (23-6-1, 18 KOs) has announced the end of his professional career. The 36-year-old Shostka native admitted to reporting that his fight with four-class former world champion Adrien Broner was cancelled.
“This fight with Adrien Broner has to happen no matter what, we both want it. There are those who do not want it. I respect Broner and BLK (the organizers of the fight – approx) for all their merits.
Thanks for the opportunity BLK. It hurts because they stole the fight of my dreams, the fight of my life. Boxing is my life. I came to the boxing gym at the age of 6 thanks to my fans. We’ve all been waiting for this fight. And what happened is not my fault. excuse me.
In boxing, there are many bad people who ruin the lives of boxers and destroy their dreams. I am in pain. I finished boxing. I was loyal to boxing, but a boxer cannot fight when his hands are tied,” Redkach wrote on Twitter.
The fight between Redkach and Broner was supposed to take place on February 25.
