LONDON, UK — The date of April 23, at Wembley Stadium in London, has been confirmed for the WBC heavyweight championship bout between Britain’s reigning champion Tyson Fury and his contender Dillian Whyte, announced co-promoter Frank Warren.

The holding of this fight had already been announced Tuesday by Fury himself on social networks, but the date was yet to be confirmed.

Fury, 33, retained his WBC heavyweight belt by defeating American Deontay Wilder by knockout. in the 11th round after one of the biggest fights in history in Las Vegas in October 2021.

The WBC, one of the three main boxing federations, decided on December 12 to force him to defend his belt against Dillian Whyte in 2022.

In his last fight, in March 2021, Whyte, also 33, defeated Russian Alexander Povetkin by knockout. in the 4th round.
