British boxer trainer Tyson Fury (33-0-1, 24 KOs) Sugar Hill Commissioner Noting that he did not prepare his ward for a fight against WBA, WBO, IBO and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (20-0, 13 KOs):

Everyone forgot that I was coaching Lawrence Okoli and that his challenge would be in Manchester. My plane ticket is March 28.

I want him (Fury – ed.) to fight the best and he really wants to fight the best. It will be when it is. We have no control over this. All we can do is sit back and check what we can and wait and see what happens.

I don’t care because I’m here and focused on Lawrence Okoli. That’s why I came here (in the UK – ed.). I was always at training camp with Lawrence. It so happened that negotiations were held and talk about the Fury – Usyk fight. Then we arrived in Manchester and started using Tyson’s gym for training – it’s like home to me and I feel comfortable there. We come here for fight week and continue training and preparation for this fight.

Again, I’m here because of Lawrence. Tyson was with us at the gym, but I didn’t train Tyson. We didn’t work on the paw, we didn’t do anything for Usyk.”

It was previously reported that Usyk closed the training camp where he was preparing for the super fight against Fury.
