Ukraine release Usyk and Lomachenko to play alongside Joshua and Kambosos
Oleksandr Usyk and Vasiliy Lomachenko were allowed to leave Ukraine’s war zone and fight Anthony Joshua and George Kambosos.
Oleksandr Usyk and Vasiliy Lomachenko can leave Ukraine’s war zone to fight with Anthony Joshua and George Kambosos respectively.
Usyk returned to his country on February 24 to enlist in the Ukrainian army, followed a few days later by Lomachenko. Although boxing has become secondary to them due to the war, there is a chance they will fight at some point.
Recall that Usyk is playing a rematch with Joshua as he already has a win in his favor, while Lomachenko has agreed to go to Australia to challenge… champion George Kambosos. There has been a general mobilization in Ukraine and no man between the ages of 18 and 60 can leave the country.
Bob Arum claims the two boxers had the option to leave the country, but they haven’t made a final decision yet.
