Teofimo Lopez announces retirement after defeating Taylor
Newly minted WBO welterweight champion Teofimo Lopez (19-1, 13 KOs) announced that he was quitting boxing after defeating British boxer Josh Taylor (19-1, 13 KOs).
“What a relief! He went to the summit. Thank you boxing for the amazing life it has given me and everyone I love. Twice the biggest,” Lopez wrote on her Instagram page.
Note that after 12 rounds of results all referees favored Theo Lopez: 115-113, 115-113, 117-111.
