Coach Derevyanchenko: “My ward definitely won”
André RozierThe coach commented on the controversial decision of the referees in the fight against Ukrainian middleweight boxer Sergey Derevyanchenko (14-5, 10 KOs) Mexican boxer Jaime Mungia (42-0, 33 KOs).
“The plan of struggle was carried out accordingly, until the moment when Derevyanchenko was knocked down. I thought you had the win.
Derevyanchenko really did a lot of laps. It was a great fight. It was very close, but my ward definitely won. I am very proud of him. It was nothing but tough struggles. As a people’s champion Derevyanchenko and I am really proud of what he did, ”said the Ukrainian coach.
The judges unanimously awarded Munguia the win in their notes: 115-112, 114-113, 114-113.
