Russian MMA fighter Ivan Shtyrkov said that the ACA promotion is now becoming a monopoly in Russian mixed martial arts.
— I would not say that there is any trend. We have the same ACA, which is currently becoming a monopoly in Russian MMA. The promotion takes in almost all strong professional fighters, concludes contracts with them for a large number of fights, up to six. So here the point is not in the peculiarities of the market, but in specific personalities. Some athletes have a certain background and media resource behind them, which allows them to fight more often and in different disciplines. Thus, he can work more and earn more, but at the same time not be obliged to anyone, bound by contractual obligations.
If seasoned fighters have the ability to be free agents and have no shortage of offers, they are more likely to choose that. Young people, on the contrary, want to be sure of their future, which is why they conclude long-term contracts. In some way, this is good. A person knows that he has a job, and may not worry about it, – RT quotes Shtyrkov.
Shtyrkov, who turns 35 in September, has 22 wins, two losses and one draw in MMA. Also, Shtyrkov had a fight according to the rules of boxing with Magomed Ismailov and according to the rules of kickboxing – with Peter Romankevich.
