The best undercard fights of Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois

Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois will meet on August 26 in Wroclaw, Poland. The bottom card of their duel isn’t a masterpiece, but it’s close to it. The first is that promotional companies hit the target audience very accurately. A large number of Ukrainians will watch the tournament both live and on television. It is therefore desirable that more than one Ukrainian take part in the tournament.

Secondly, the British are interested in the tournament. Because the second boxer of the main fight of the night is the British candidate and Usyk is popular on the island. That’s why you need to use not just Dubois, but someone more famous. For this, the legendary Naseem Hamed was invited. His son will play his first professional game in the tournament.

Let’s talk about the most interesting undercard pairs and why you should watch the tournament in full.

Nursultan Amanzholov (5-0, 4 KOs) – Lazizbek Mullozhonov (3-0, 3 KOs)

Unexpectedly, the Ukrainians are not the first couple to be noted. Nursultan Amanzholov is a Kazakh boxer who regularly attends training camps of Alexander Usik. At least before Joshua and Dubois, the Ukrainian actress also argued with him.

Nursultan boxed three times in Kazakhstan, once in Korea and once in Belarus. There are no stars among the competitors yet, but in general he is an interesting boxer. Tall, with very long sleeves, perfect for a straight right shot.

His opponent is not a puncher from Uzbekistan. An experienced amateur and a good professional puncher. Did Mullozhonov beat a standout? Of course not. However, he defeated all three of his opponents, including the Russian, without any problems.

Young hopes with zero defeats and heavy punches. It looks like the perfect seed for the main fight of the night.

Fedor Cherkashin (22-0, 14 KOs) – Anahuel Ngamisengue (12-0, 8 KOs)

Cherkashin moves confidently in professional boxing. Leaving Thai boxing, the man got used to Poland, got used to it, constantly gave the right messages and has already traveled to the USA more than once.

The last three fights Fedor boxed in America. All three won, two by knockout. At the same time, a Kharkiv resident is not a puncher. Rather, he likes to work in combination in terms of quantity. And if it comes already – great.

Ngamisengue left amateur boxing in 2019. Its dimensions are not in height, but in shoulder width and impact force. Definitely more than that of the Ukrainian boxer. But the question of whether he will strike this blow is certainly clear. Because so far it seems Cherkashin is noticeably stronger in tempo boxing and can hold up well throughout the entire fight. Moreover, this match will only last eight rounds.

Particular interest in the conflict comes from the Poles. After Fedor turned pro, he immediately announced that he would enter the ring under two flags. Because part of his family is Polish and he is grateful to the country that accepted him. But she was born and raised in Ukraine, and she’s not going to leave him that way.

And Cherkashin has not been boxing in his second homeland since 2021, so local fans are definitely waiting for his fight.

The main thing in the fight itself will be whether the Frenchman will get used to the opponent’s style. It will be very interesting if he can keep the offensive pace and hit strong. Otherwise, Cherkashin needs to rearrange a physically strong opponent.

Dmitry Mitrofanov (13-0-1, 6 KOs) – Khamzat Shiraz (17-0, 13 KOs)

The best rival in Mitrofanov’s career. At least on paper. He is 24 years old, has strong hitting potential, has a stopping percentage of over 75% and is 191 cm tall. To understand the situation, Mitrofanov’s height is only 173 centimeters.

Shiraz holds the needle well, attacks with force. But because of his youth and composure, he sometimes flirts in attacks and misses out on things that aren’t needed.

Just as Shiraz is the best boxer in Mitrofanov’s professional career, Mitrofanov is the most experienced boxer in his British career. Here there is amateur boxing, long training sessions with the best Ukrainians and a semi-amateur league.

There are two main questions. The first is whether Mitrofanov will go a distance suitable for him. Still, his boxing is at close and middle distances, with lots of lateral changes. Reaching such an opponent will be difficult. The second is whether it is possible to surprise the opponent and spoil his plan. If Shiraz gets angry and rushes into battle, both warriors will have a better chance of killing each other. If he keeps his distance and penalty wisely, the Ukrainian player will have many problems.

Denis Berinchyk (17-0, 9 KOs) – Anthony Yigit (27-3-1, 10 KOs)

An interesting confrontation with history. Their first match took place at the 2012 Olympics, after which Berinçyk won by a close decision of the judges. Yigit will take revenge as he announced to the public.

As a professional, Anthony is more experienced. And the Swede is pretty big. Even during the weigh-in, he was larger than Denis – 61.2 kg against 60.7 kg. And he likes to work as number two. True, given that he likes to get into fights less, will this be enough for a long time – an interesting question.

A duel full of intrigue. Berinchyk may have problems leading to defeat. So you need to have a great plan with this competitor.

Moreover:

Daniel Lapin will face German Aro Schwartz, his first opponent with a positive record in his career. Tall will definitely be interesting in general. Yaroslav Khartsyz will fight the second Pole of his career. Nothing special, but Yaroslav is giving a brilliant performance as a professional so far. Alexander Solomennikov will fight with Pole Piotr Gudel. It seems unlikely that the Poles have won since 2019 and beat Solomennikov, one of Ukraine’s best young boxers.

Cars, factory, paper. Usik explained his career outside of boxing in detail.

Ukrainian boxer Alexander Usik said that he invested the money he earned from sports into business life.

“I have a small business right now. I have a company called Ready2Fight that doesn’t just work with boxing. What do we do? As promoters, we can guide the athlete – legal decisions, managerial decisions. Find trainers, doctors. So create a team. We also do things for sports and equipment.”

“We do some construction. I invest a little in hot construction. There is a glass processing plant. And of course, some valuable papers, special cars. I am a little more interested in the business world than, say, five years ago.”

“Because I understand that I earn money and they also have to work, they just buy themselves some diamonds, gold or something and get high. I’m not that kind of person, I don’t really like to show off,” Usik said.
