There has never been such a fight in boxing! The gypsy king destroyed an opponent at Wembley

Tyson Fury knocked out White in front of almost 100 thousand spectators. It is a pity that this was indeed his last fight.

On the evening of April 23, the legendary Wembley was habitually packed to capacity, but for a very unusual reason. 94 thousand spectators visited the legendary arena to see the main boxing match of 2022 between Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte.

The Gypsy King entered the ring not only to defend the WBC title, to leave the sport undefeated and to set the record for attendance at boxing matches in history. It was on his mighty shoulders that another important task fell – to prove that rumors about the death of professional boxing and the total dominance of MMA are greatly exaggerated.

And Fury dispelled all doubts. Against cool boxing, any fight in the UFC is still powerless.

The last fight of the Gypsy King?

No matter who fought in the ring in the months remaining until December, the main fight of the year in boxing took place in London on April 23rd. Tyson Fury, who has never lost in 32 fights, fought Dillian Whyte, who lost only twice in 30 fights: Anthony Joshua and Alexander Povetkin. With all the respect of experts to White, Fury was considered the undisputed favorite, who surpassed his opponent not only in size, but also in skill.

There was no crazy confrontation between the boxers before the fight. Fury fueled interest in the event in another way – by announcing his retirement. However, few believed in the seriousness of his intentions.

White quickly slipped into dirty boxing

Fury from the very beginning gave the initiative to the opponent, but at the same time he completely controlled everything that happened in the ring. In the second round, he disturbed the opponent several times with accented blows towards him, and after the third round White already gave vent to emotions in the corner. Dillian was urged to work on his own, and not watch Fury implement his plan for the fight.

White was not particularly surprised, trying to compensate for the difference in size with a dirty boxing style. The interim champion deliberately used forbidden moves to piss Fury off and make him make mistakes. A clear demonstration of his intentions was the fourth round, where Tyson rarely delivered blows to the target and boiled over. At the same time, White constantly appealed to the judge and complained about the opponent’s dishonest work in the clinch.

fatal uppercut

In the fifth round, Fury was still working as number two, choosing a convenient distance for himself and sometimes causing problems for his opponent. Passions subsided, and it seemed that the fight would spill over into the later rounds. But then Fury showed why he is called the greatest heavyweight of our time. At the end of the measured and not the most spectacular sixth round, Tyson delivered an amazing uppercut and knocked out his opponent.

White tried to get up, but the referee decided to stop the fight. And he did absolutely the right thing, because Dillian really collapsed on the floor without feelings, and when he got up, he was very staggering.

Leaving go?

Almost 100 thousand spectators at Wembley were delighted, but Fury still managed to disappoint them. It turned out that the words about the end of a career were not a bluff and PR. He really doesn’t want to fight anymore.

“I promised my wife that I would not return to the ring. I love my fans. Thank you very much! I enjoyed fighting in front of you at Wembley. Thank you, Great Britain, for the wonderful reception, said Fury after the victory.

Tyson effortlessly proved the superiority of boxing over MMA. However, it will be very difficult for boxing to break popularity records without the Gypsy King. It remains to be hoped that he again leads only an understandable game for him and will soon enter the ring again.

“What Paul did was not brave. He did not go to fight for his country. When he went to defend his state at the front, that is courage.”

What kind of courage is Paul talking about? He ran away in the first round and when he didn’t have enough strength to run, Joshua broke his jaw,” Chisora said.
