Former world champion reveals his score in the fight between Fury and Ngannou
Former two-division world champion and renowned boxing analyst Paul Malignaggi (36-8, 7 KOs) commented on the outcome of the fight between WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) and Francis Ngannou (0-1).
Malignaggi clearly explained why the referees made the right decision.
“Ngannou wasn’t a guy who could stay consistent for ten rounds.
At the end of the fight Fury won the fight, it was a split decision, was he more competitive than we thought? Yes definitely. Does Ngannou deserve the praise and Tyson Fury the criticism? No doubt.
Regardless, Francis Ngannou had a great performance but I didn’t think he won enough rounds so I bet on 96-93.
I don’t think he won more than three rounds, maybe four if I’m being generous, but he won the more active rounds and Fury won all the passive rounds. But you still have to consider silent tours,” Malignaggi said.
On October 28, a 10-round fight took place between Tyson Fury and former UFC champion Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia. Fury earned a hard-fought split decision win (95-94 Ngannou, 96-93 Fury, 95-94 Fury).
