MONTREAL – Erik Bazinyan now knows his opponent for his championship fight on June 23: Argentinian Marcelo Esteban Coceres.

Bazinyan (27-0, 21 KOs) will then put his North American Boxing Federation (NABF) and North American Boxing Association (NABA) super middleweight belts into play against the pugnacious Coceres (30-3 -1, 16 KOs).

Coceres lost a unanimous decision to Edgar Berlanga following a close fight last October for the North American Boxing Organization (NABO) belt. He also fought a World Boxing Organization (WBO) world championship fight against Billy Joe Saunders in November 2019. The Englishman won by K.-O. in the 11th round.

Bazinyan will look to continue his rise in the world rankings, as he is ranked fifth in the World Boxing Association (WBA), eighth in the WBO, as well as 15th in the World Boxing Council (WBC).

This fight will ensure the semi-final clash between Steven Butler (29-3-1, 25 KOs) and New Brunswicker Brandon Brewer (25-1-2, 11 KOs) for the title vacant NABF middleweight.

Eye of the Tiger Management will present four of its headliners for this gala presented at the Casino de Montréal.

In addition to Bazinyan and Butler, Artem Oganesyan (13-0, 11 KOs), NABF super-welterweight champion, and Yves Ulysse fils (20-2, 11 KOs), who owns the NABF light welterweight belt, will also be in action.

However, it is not yet known whether Oganesyan and Ulysses will put their titles on the line.
