WBC President Mauricio Suleiman He voiced his stance against the IBF stripping American boxer Terence Crawford (40-0, 31 KOs) of the world heavyweight title.
“As a fan, I am outraged. The WBC has been trying to make the Spence-Crawford fight happen for three or four years. We have not allowed any restrictions to hinder the process. We now have an interim champion, so the event will go on. How can you challenge Crawford? The winner of the Fury-Usyk fight How can you object?” said the officer.
Suleiman was asked if the governing bodies would allow the fighters to have their own rematch.
“Absolutely! How can you let the best fighter, Terence Crawford, go unrecognized?” replied the WBC President.
