UFC lightweight champion, Russian Islam Makhachev, believes that his next opponent should be welterweight champion Leon Edwards.
Briton Edwards defeated American Colby Covington on Sunday at UFC 296, defending the organization’s welterweight title.
— Leon Edwards should be my next opponent. Edwards vs. Colby Covington is crap. We need to change the champion,” Makhachev said in a video published on social networks.

32-year-old Edwards scored 22 victories and three defeats in MMA, one fight was declared invalid. Makhachev has 25 wins with one defeat, the Russian topped the UFC rankings regardless of weight categories after the second defense of the championship title.
