“Fucking Russian”. Shlemenko destroyed an American for disrespect for the Russian flag

The storm took down the daring fighter from the USA in the first round. And made me change my mind.
In Russian mixed martial arts, an unexpected conflict has formed. Restrained and avoiding scandals, Fedor Emelianenko exchanged sharp remarks with Alexander Shlemenko. The reason is the political processes in the MMA Union of Russia, which the Last Emperor recently left.
During the pick, Emelianenko announced that Shlemenko was becoming a blogger. Alexander really doesn’t go into his pocket for a word, but at the same time he answered harshly to the rubbish in his address more than once … in the octagon.
So, before the championship fight in Bellator, Doug Marshall walked over the person of his counterpart, spoke unflatteringly about the Russian fighters and hurt the honor of the flag. The storm demonstrated to the presumptuous opponent the capabilities of the Russians in MMA and forced him to answer for rude words.
The American recognized the coolness of the opponent.
Weak Russian
The paths of Alexander Shlemenko and Doug Marshall were supposed to cross in September 2013, but the American was injured and lost the right to fight for the Bellator championship belt to Brett Cooper. Having defeated the challenger in a five-round fight, Storm received another opponent in November. It just turned out to be Marshall who had improved his health.
Alexander planned to “beat Marshall harder.” Such a mood of a Russian can be understood – the opponent overdid it with insults, calling his opponent “another weak Russian.” The Russian fighters as a whole also got it – Doug dubbed them lovers of hugging.
– I often had to be an outsider, and now I am again considered as such. Outsider before whom? In front of another fucking Russian who has absolutely no power? Who looked slow and powerless in the last fight? Marshall was quoted by Komsomolskaya Pravda.
The matter was not limited to Storm’s insults, Doug tried to present the upcoming battle as a confrontation between Russia and the United States, expressing dissatisfaction with the fact that Alexander often demonstrates the Russian flag after victories.
— I saw how Shlemenko wraps himself in the Russian flag after every victory. I know it’s country pride, but man… this is America and I feel like I’ve been slapped every time you do it. So I’m going to slap you when we’re in the cage and take your belt and then I’ll wrap myself in the prettiest flag of all – red, white and blue, baby! Fans will see fireworks like on July 4, they will see a beautiful American flag,” Marshall continued to bully his opponent.
Alexander this time was even forced to neglect his own rule not to go online on the eve of fights. The manager introduced Shlemenko to the words of the American, Storm decided for himself that such words should be severely punished.
“I understand that he needs to sell our fight, utter big words, but it was not me personally who was hurt there, but my country,” Alexander wrote.
The judge saved the American from destruction
Perhaps Marshall did not just incite Shlemenko before the fight. Alexander, on emotions, could rush from the first seconds into the wheelhouse, where the Rhino had chances to inflict a crazy knockout blow. Storm, however, chose a more restrained tactic, knocking down the opponent’s ardor with transfers to the ground. The Russian fighter was not shy about standing up either – skipping himself, he also inflicted serious damage on his opponent.
Especially actively Shlemenko worked on the body of the opponent, trying to break through the liver. Marshall would have had a hard time in the event of a protracted battle, but the Russian saved him from such an outcome. Another blow of the “weak Russian” to the liver led to the fact that Doug’s knees buckled. Having stood on his feet in this episode, the American could not withstand another well-balanced blow and collapsed on the floor, grimacing in pain. The daring fighter did not last even one round.
The referee did not allow Storm to finish off the American, although Shlemenko himself clearly wanted to continue, intending to teach an impolite opponent a lesson. However, the victory put everything on its bridges – Alexander proved that everything was in order with his power, and he did not shame the honor of the Russian flag. The beautiful American flag that Marshall promised to wear was completely out of place in this situation.
Hard Storm
After another defense, the Russian was challenged by the Irish bad boy Brennan Ward, whose liver at that time did not know the blows of the Storm. As for Marshall, the American learned his lesson by changing his attitude towards Russian rivals in general and Shlemenko in particular.
This guy is incredibly tough, he’s really cool. I didn’t expect him to be able to pull off such takedowns during a fight. I must admit that he deservedly defeated me and defeated me with his blows to the liver area. I want to promise that I will come back stronger and win the Grand Prix again to fight him again,” Doug said after the fight.
There was no continuation of the story – Marshall received a disqualification for the use of prohibited substances, under the influence of which he was during the fight. Doug nevertheless returned to the cage, where he was knocked out by Melvin Manhuv, after which he finally decided to quit his fighting career.

“They don’t know what they’re seeing.” Star boxer bravely assessed Usik’s level
Famous American heavyweight boxer Deontay Wilder (44-4-1, 43 KOs) evaluated the level of the Ukrainian champion Alexandra Usika (24-0, 15 knockouts):
“I don’t think Usyk is the best boxer of all time. Those who say this are probably his fans, they should say this. These are his people. Probably many people from Ukraine also say this. Apart from them, very few people say this. But most people do not understand boxing.
Many fans don’t know what they’re seeing and don’t understand what they’re watching. The structure of this job, its basics, taking a certain position, fighting, etc. They don’t know the real things that need to be done.”
Dereck Chisora previously explained why the fight between Usyk and Wilder will not happen.
