A fighter from the school of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov was shot dead in Makhachkala

Russian mixed martial arts fighter Magomedrasul Mutaev was killed in Makhachkala, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Dagestan reports.

As noted, on Wednesday evening the duty department received information that shots were heard at the entrance of one of the apartment buildings on Gaptsakhskaya Street.

An unknown person fired several shots from an unidentified weapon at a 21-year-old resident of Makhachkala. The man died as a result of the gunshot wounds he received. The investigative department of the investigative committee for the region clarifies that the attacker shot at least seven times, the fighter died on the way to the hospital. A criminal case has been opened for murder.

The press service of the AMC Fight Nights promotion, in which Mutaev performed, expressed condolences in connection with the tragedy.

“It is with deep regret that we inform you about the premature death of the young and promising athlete Magomedrasul Mutaev! He managed to leave a bright mark on the world of martial arts, his bright image will forever remain in our hearts. Our condolences to the family and loved ones,” the message says.

According to the Shot Telegram channel, an unknown person approached Mutaev from behind and fired eight shots from a pistol. The source claims that 18-year-old Nadyrkhan K. from the village of Korkmaskala is being sought on suspicion of murder. The Mash Telegram channel notes that Mutaev and his friends allegedly beat Nadyrkhan about a month ago and mocked him in every possible way.

Mutaev trained at the school of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, the father of ex-UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
