What did Emelianenko’s student do! Turned a Pole’s face into mush in one round
Nemkov ended his opponent’s career.
On the night of February 24-25, fighter Vadim Nemkov returns to heavyweight after years, where he will face Brazilian Bruno Cappelozza at the PFL vs Bellator tournament. The student of Fedor Emelianenko has always proven that he knows how to prepare for important fights. At the beginning of his career, the Russian simply destroyed the dangerous Pole after a difficult period in his career.
“My heart was beating randomly”
Vadim Nemkov has been training in Fedor Emelianenko’s team since he was 17, but he made his debut in mixed martial arts only in 2013. The start of my career turned out to be excellent. Vadim won five victories and did not suffer a single defeat.
Against the backdrop of a successful series, Nemkova was signed by the Japanese promotion RIZIN. In 2015, the Russian made a successful debut in the heavyweight division, knocking out Croatian Goran Relijic in the first round. But then a black streak came in Vadim’s career. He suffered two painful losses to future UFC champion Jiri Prochazka and Swede Karl Albrektsson.
— I had a fight in RIZIN and after that I couldn’t train for a whole month. There was no gasoline, my heart was beating randomly. There were no cardiograms at all. The ultrasound of the heart was also not very good,” Nemkov recalled his unsuccessful trips to Japan in an interview with the YouTube channel “MMA Bulletin”.
For his return, Vadim chose Fight Night. In the main fight of the 50 promotion tournament, Fedor Emelianenko and Fabio Maldonado fought. Also on the card were many current Russian mixed martial arts stars: Sergey Pavlovich, Anatoly Tokov, Marina Mokhnatkina and others.
“I needed this victory”
Nemkov’s opponent was the dangerous Pole Mikolaj Rozanski (4-1). The versatile fighter was on a streak of three early victories. Even at Fight Night, the athletes’ chances were assessed approximately equally. Vadim was listed as only a slight favorite.
But from the first seconds it became clear that the Russian was determined to win. He took the center of the cage and started with a powerful low kick. Vadim’s quick jabs caused Rozanski a lot of problems. The Pole tried to respond, but Vadim easily dodged his sweeping blows.
It was obvious that Mikolai came to St. Petersburg in the hope of knocking Vadim out with lucky punch. Rozanski invested in every opportunity, but it played a cruel joke on him. He missed over and over again. At the end of the second minute, Mikolay could barely stand on his feet.
The clinch attempt ended in fiasco. Vadim threw the Pole onto the canvas and began beating him harshly. The Russian quickly turned the Pole’s face into a bloody mess. The judge was forced to stop the fight in the first round.
“I wanted to chop it up longer.” The more often an athlete reaches the third round, the faster he grows. But I’m still happy. “I needed this victory,” Nemkov said after the fight.
Success in the battle with the Pole marked the beginning of Nemkov’s undefeated streak, which continues to this day. During this time, Vadim became one of the best light heavyweights in the world, and now he has to conquer the heavyweight division.
Rozanski’s career was over. Since then, he has not had a single official fight. Now Mikolaj works as a trainer in a small sports center in Lucerne.

2020 Olympics champion boxer Batyrgaziev decided to take a break from his career
Olympic champion and former interim WBA super featherweight champion Albert Batyrgaziev decided to take a break from his professional career.
At the beginning of July in Istanbul at the “IBA.PRO 8” tournament, Batyrgaziev lost early to the British James Dickens and lost the IBA.PRO champion and interim WBA champion titles in the second featherweight division. For the 27-year-old Russian, this was the first defeat in his professional career.
— I want to tell you honestly about my plans. Many people ask about their future career. Now I have decided to take a conscious break from my professional career. For me, boxing has been and remains a huge part of my life. Therefore, this choice is now very difficult. My whole sports life has been a race to the top: four Russian championships, an Olympic medal in Tokyo and then turning professional, where I went undefeated.
The last fight on July 2 was a turning point for me. The first defeat made me look at many things differently. I thank Allah for the trials and mercies that helped me become a better person. Since I have always felt a responsibility not only in the ring, but also before society, now is the time to become more active in projects that I have long planned, for example, supporting the development of sports infrastructure in my native regions. This doesn’t mean I’m saying goodbye to the ring. I remain an active boxer. But now all my work is outside of it. I thank everyone for their incredible support along this path: both in moments of triumph and in moments of challenge. She gives strength. I promise this new chapter will be just as honest and purposeful. I’m not saying goodbye, I’m just saying “goodbye,” Batyrgaziev wrote in the Telegram channel.
Batyrgaziev won gold in the weight category up to 57 kg at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. In the professional ring he has 12 wins and one loss.
