Ishmuratova – about not allowing Evloev: “Nazism is flourishing in Western Europe. They draw the line between high and low castes.”

Two-time Olympic champion Svetlana Ishmuratova called the decision to exclude Russian Greco-Roman wrestler Musa Evloev from qualifying for the Olympic Games in Paris political.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Wrestling Federation, Mikhail Mamiashvili, told Match TV that the United World Wrestling (UWW) does not allow Evloev to qualify for the Games in Paris because of a photo in front of a poster with the words “No to Nazism.”
“All this once again confirms that sport is in politics. There they draw a line between higher and lower castes. They believe that Russia should only listen and do what it is told. But we have always struggled with such things. Unfortunately, in Western Europe this Nazism is flourishing. Everything there is contaminated with it. And Ukraine is their platform for all the showdowns. The case with Evloev is clearly a political decision. But I have already said that if an athlete now agrees to participate in the Olympics in a neutral status, then in essence he looks like he is kneeling and as if he is abandoning his country, which is now fighting this Nazism. And I stand by this,” Ishmuratova told Match TV.
The qualifying tournament for the Olympics will be held in Baku from April 4 to 7.
