Former Bellator welterweight champion Russian Andrey Koreshkov said that it is difficult to talk about the prospects of compatriot Petr Yan in the UFC, since his next fight will not take place soon.

The 31-year-old Yang fought his last fight on March 9 at the UFC 299 tournament, defeating the Chinese Song Yadong by decision. The Russian later underwent surgery for a torn meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament in his knee.

— Peter’s battle was difficult. He won hard, got injured. He has a torn anterior cruciate ligament. He underwent surgery and has a very long recovery ahead of him. I think if we see him this year it will be interesting to see how he comes back from injury. Well done, he won and returned to the winning path, but it’s hard to talk about his prospects, because his next fight will not take place soon,” Metaratings.ru quotes Koreshkov as saying.

Earlier, the press service of the Archangel Michael club, Match TV, reported that Yan would return to the octagon no earlier than the fall. In total, the Russian has 17 victories and 5 defeats in mixed martial arts.
