Three-time UFC champion Georges St-Pierre explained what illness caused him to decide to end his career.
“The reason I retired was because I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. It was very difficult for me to gain weight. I went to the toilet and saw a lot of blood, I thought I might have cancer. When I was diagnosed, I felt relieved,” the Canadian MMA Junkie quotes with reference to the Pound 4 Pound podcast.
Georges St-Pierre is a three-time winner of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) championship belt. St-Pierre was named Canadian Sportsman of the Year in 2008 and 2009 and was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2021.
