Beterbiev was injured, the fight with Bivol was postponed until the end of the year

WBC, WBO and IBF light heavyweight world champion Artur Beterbiev was injured and will not be able to fight Dmitry Bivol on June 1, Minister and Chairman of the General Authority of Entertainment Affairs in Saudi Arabia Turki Al al-Sheikh said on social network X.
The fight between Beterbiev and Bivol was supposed to take place in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
“After receiving news about Beterbiev’s injury, we will postpone his fight against Bivol, which was scheduled for June 1, until the end of this year. I wish my brother Arthur a speedy recovery. The 5v5 tournament remains in force and will take place on June 1,” wrote Al ash-Sheikh.
According to journalist Mike Coppinger, Beterbiev was diagnosed with a torn meniscus.
The 39-year-old Beterbiev’s track record includes 20 victories in 20 professional fights (all by knockout). The 33-year-old Bivol has 22 wins in 22 fights and holds the WBA Super championship belt.

Former WBA, WBO, IBF heavyweight world champion Briton Anthony Joshua will spend New Year’s Eve in one of the best hospitals in Nigeria, continuing to recover from a car accident, reports the Daily Mail.
The incident occurred on Monday along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The Lexus SUV Joshua was in collided with a stationary truck. According to the preliminary version of the investigation, the accident occurred due to a burst tire when the Lexus exceeded the speed limit on this section of the road. In addition to Joshua and the driver, there were also two people in the car who died on the spot.
Local police said Joshua was in a “stable” condition and had only suffered “minor” injuries, although there were concerns they could be more serious than previously reported. So Joshua will remain in the hospital for at least a couple more days as he continues to recover.
At the hospital, the boxer occupies the “royal suite”. Here, patients receive personalized care 24 hours a day and have access to medical and front desk staff. They also receive gourmet meals from the kitchen, prepared to suit their tastes.
Olympic champion Joshua defeated American blogger Jake Paul in a fight in Miami on December 19. In total, he has 29 victories and four defeats in the professional ring.

Russian UFC fighter Arman Tsarukyan and his compatriot Sharabutdin Magomedov, nicknamed Shara Bullet, ended in a draw in a grappling fight.

Tsarukyan defeated New Zealander Dan Hooker by submission in the second round at UFC Fight Night 265 in November 2025. He has 23 wins and three losses in MMA. Magomedov fought his last fight in July 2025 at the UFC on ABC 9 tournament, defeating Canadian Marc-Andre Barrio by unanimous decision. The Russian has 16 wins and one loss.
