The Russian UFC star was deprived of his victory fee. As if they wouldn’t get kicked out of the promotion!

Unpleasant prospects are looming for Arman Tsarukyan.

The career of Russian mixed martial arts fighter Arman Tsarukyan took a sharp leap upward after his victory over Charles Oliveira at UFC 300.

But a second of confusion before a fight with a Brazilian can cost a representative of our country dearly, because the competent authorities have become interested in his behavior.

“Struck back, that’s all”

Tsarukyan is now in first place in the UFC lightweight rankings. Armand moved up there thanks to a split decision victory over Brazilian Charles Oliveira. But even before appearing in the octagon, the Russian had to wave his fists. The fighter decided to teach the fan a lesson for the obscene gesture.

“He gave me the middle finger and wanted to hit me, and I hit back, that’s all.” Nobody shows me such gestures. I will definitely answer this. You can give me your middle finger from 200 meters away and I won’t be able to hit you, but when you’re close to me… It happens automatically. I’m from Russia, please don’t do this, or I’ll go to prison in the USA,” Essentially Sports quotes Tsarukyan.

The fan was lucky that he was not hit by the main contender for the lightweight belt. Armand even generously decided to give the provocateur tickets to the fight between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler. As a result, the conflict was resolved.

– Yes, everything was fine. He asked me about tickets to UFC 303, which Conor is competing in. No problem, no problem! — Tsarukyan said on the UFC Unfiltered podcast a week later.

Serious trouble

But even then Arman understood that he would have problems. It recently became known that the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) was interested in the high-profile episode. An influential organization will consider the case of the Russian fighter on April 30.

According to Tsarukyan’s manager Sayat Abdrakhmanov, the athlete faces a fine and disqualification. Several American journalists confirmed the information about the hearing. MMA Junkie reporter Nolan King also said that due to the litigation, Armand’s fee for the fight with Oliveira was blocked by the NSAC.

According to the rules of the commission, Tsarukyan can face very serious sanctions, including lifelong disqualification and complete deprivation of his fee. At the same time, the UFC bosses, even with a strong desire, will not be able to do anything about this.

Of course, it is unlikely that the most severe punishment will be applied to the Russian fighter, because no one was hurt, and the parties were reconciled. But you will most likely have to lose some of the money. And you shouldn’t expect a championship fight before the fall, given that belt holder Islam Makhachev and challenger Dustin Poirier will fight only on June 2.

Tsarukyan: “If Shara Bullet defeats me, I will give him an apartment in Yerevan”

Russian UFC fighter Arman Tsarukyan said that he will give his compatriot Sharabutdin Magomedov, nicknamed Shara Bullet, an apartment in Yerevan if he defeats him in a grappling fight.

Let’s bow our heads. 21-year-old boxer died on New Year’s Eve

Every day at 9 am, Ukrainians commemorate the people who lost their lives in the Russia-Ukraine war. Today Sport.ua recalls that 21-year-old Thai boxing master Vladislav Vakulenko, a very positive person, had great potential in the ring, but with the beginning of a full-scale invasion he decided to defend Ukraine. The fighter died exactly three years ago, on December 30, 2022, while conducting a combat mission near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region.

Vladislav was born in Kiev and has been involved with sports since his childhood. Just six months before his tragic death, he received a diploma from the National University of Physical Education and Sports of Ukraine and dreamed of major competitions, medals and training future champions. In parallel with his studies, Vladislav trained in Muay Thai. The man hoped to return to training in the gym after the war.

Vladislav Vakulenko took up arms immediately after the Muscovites’ large-scale occupation of his territory. “We live with war! I understand that we live in a historical time when there are real brave comrades nearby, whose soul and body are eager for war… This is a time when you will remain a hero or die a hero,” he wrote on social networks.

His friends and coach remember Vlad as a man of light. He always smiled, joked, supported others, was a master of inspiration, did not make excuses, did not back down from difficulties. The friend wrote: “You’ve done more at this age than some have done in 50 or 60 years.” And Vlad’s mentor, Stanislav Voiten, recalls: “He did his best in training, gave his life in the fight against the invader. I am proud to have known him.”
