Ex-UFC fighter Shamil Gamzatov commented on the defeat from Viktor Nemkov in the main fight of the “Our Business 84” tournament.
37-year-old Nemkov managed to defend the heavyweight champion belt of the “Our Business” league, defeating Gamzatov by unanimous decision after five rounds.
“I knew until the very end that there would be swings either in his direction or in mine.” I felt that I was faster, but I also knew that he was physically stronger. I never gave up the thought that I would win somehow. Well, you see how it turned out. Things don’t always turn out as planned.
— Did you feel Victor’s physics, that he was a heavyweight?
– Yes, I felt it. And when he was on top, and when I was above him, and he pushed away with his legs. I couldn’t wrap my arms around him or get around his guard. And in general, the weight of the missed shots was still felt. Mass plays a huge role, no matter how you look at it.
— Victor is a little older than you and started performing quite early. Was it such a thing that, let’s say, when you were a schoolboy, you watched his fights in M-1?

He is quite experienced, I remember his fights, I watched them and even had thoughts about the future, if somehow he goes well, I thought maybe we will meet. By the way, he fought with my friends, with Rasul Magomedaliev, who now trains at the Universal Fighters club (trainer of Vladimir Mineev – Match TV), and won with a triangle. He also fought with Rashid Yusupov, they seem to have a 1-1 score,” the Match TV correspondent reports Gamzatov’s words.
For Gamzatov, this fight was the first after leaving the UFC, where the Russian fought his last fight in October 2021. Also in this fight, Gamzatov made his debut in the heavyweight division, rising from the light heavyweight division.

The accident occurred in the morning on the Lagos-Ibadan highway near Shagamu Junction in the northeast of Lagos, one of the most dangerous roads in the country.
According to the Federal Road Safety Corps of Nigeria, Joshua’s Lexus SUV collided with a truck parked on the side of the road. According to preliminary data, the SUV was traveling above the speed limit and crashed during an overtaking maneuver.
There were 5 people in the car. As a result of the accident, 2 people died. The other two passengers were not injured. Anthony Joshua was rescued alive with minor injuries. He was taken to the hospital for medical examination and treatment. Law enforcement and rescue teams arrived at the scene within minutes of the incident being reported.
Ogun State Police confirmed that the exact location of the accident was a section of the highway in front of a petrol station near Shagamu Junction. An official investigation was appointed to establish the full circumstances of the tragedy.
It is understood that Joshua was on his way from Lagos to his parents’ home. The news of the accident shocked his family. Just a few hours before the accident, the boxer posted a video on social networks in a good mood.
The incident occurred shortly after the 36-year-old Briton’s remarkable victory over Jake Paul on December 19. Tragic events in Nigeria overshadowed the sports triumph that claimed the lives of two people.

Former WBA, WBO, IBF heavyweight world champion, Briton Anthony Joshua, was involved in an accident in Nigeria, as a result of which two people died, local publication Punch reports.
The incident occurred on Monday along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The Lexus SUV Joshua was in collided with a stationary truck. It is reported that the 36-year-old boxer, who was sitting behind the driver, received minor injuries and was hospitalized.
According to an eyewitness, two people died in the accident: a passenger sitting next to the driver and a person in the back seat next to Joshua. The remaining victims were taken to the hospital.
The local police commissioner said an investigation into the incident has been ordered.
Olympic champion Joshua defeated American blogger Jake Paul in a fight in Miami on December 19. In total, he has 29 victories and four defeats in the professional ring.
