The BRICS Games in Kazan are organized at a high level, and the competition in boxing competitions is high, said Russian boxer Bair Batlayev.

On Saturday, Batlayev won the gold medal of the BRICS Games, winning the final in the up to 51 kg weight category.

— The competition at the BRICS Games is good, there are many strong competitors. The final battle was difficult, I apparently had lost my temper. In general, the fight did not go according to plan, I thought that the opponent would box differently, and I came out with a different tactic. I felt uncomfortable working with him.

— How do you assess the fact that Russian boxers will not compete at the Olympics in Paris?

“Maybe it’s right that we won’t go there without the flag and anthem.” We cannot under neutral status. We have our own homeland, our own anthem, our own flag,” a Match TV correspondent reports Batlayev’s words.
