Russian boxer Ilya Popov became the winner of the BRICS Games, which are being held in Kazan.

In the final in the weight category up to 63.5 kg, the judges unanimously gave the victory to Popov over Vadim Volchko from Belarus. Bronze medals went to Adhamjon Mukhiddinov (Uzbekistan) and Mamuti Ybulaim (China).

In the weight category up to 67 kg, Russian Karen Soloviev lost to Shavkatjon Boltaev from Uzbekistan by a split decision. The bronze medal winners were Nabi Isgandarov (Azerbaijan) and Guram Gagiev (South Ossetia).

The representative of Abkhazia, German Ardzhenia, won the gold medal in the up to 60 kg weight category, defeating Dilshod Abdumurodov from Uzbekistan in the final by unanimous decision. In this weight category, bronze medals went to Russian Arshak Tovmasyan and Aljneibi Mohamed from the UAE.
