The head of the management company Principium, Vitaly Tarasov, in a conversation with Match TV, drew attention to the behavior of Russian Sergei Pavlovich in the duel with his compatriot Alexander Volkov.

On Saturday in Saudi Arabia, Volkov defeated Pavlovich by unanimous decision at the UFC tournament. For 35-year-old Volkov, this victory was the 38th in his career with 10 losses. The professional record of 32-year-old Pavlovich is 18-2.

After the fight, Pavlovich refused to shake Volkov’s hand and pushed him away. Volkov and Pavlovich had previously been sparring partners.

— In principle, the fight followed one of those scenarios that many experts predicted. Either Sergey would win by a quick knockout, or Alexander would beat him at a distance. Volkov’s team worked great, Alexander himself strictly followed the plan and won the fight. It’s great that two representatives of Russia fought in the co-main event of the evening of a big tournament, but, of course, the ending, when Sergey pushed Alexander away from himself, slightly spoiled the whole impression. It’s a pity that two good Russian fighters publicly showed such intolerance towards each other. Apparently, emotions played a role. I hope that soon they will close all the misunderstandings, — Tarasov told Match TV.

The tournament in Saudi Arabia was broadcast live on Match TV and Match! Fighter.
