Russian heavyweight Alexander Volkov, after his victory over Sergei Pavlovich at the UFC tournament in Saudi Arabia, told reporters that he would like to have a title fight.

Volkov, 35, is currently on a four-fight winning streak, three of which were won early. The UFC heavyweight champion belt is held by American Jon Jones. The interim champion belt is held by British fighter Tom Aspinall.

— What do you see as your chances of getting a title fight now and are you ready to wait until 2025 for this?

— I would, of course, like to fight for the belt. But I also understand that I am an employee of the UFC and they may have their own opinion on this matter. And if they offer any other options, I will consider them.

— Was Sergei Pavlovich very different in sparring and Sergei Pavlovich very different in the fight today?

— The thing is that I probably don’t suit Sergey stylistically at all. And he shouldn’t have accepted this fight. It was a bad decision on the part of his team to try to make up for their previous defeat. And today I also went left-handed and used the arsenal that I didn’t use in sparring with him, so I think Sergey had a hard time with me, — the Match TV correspondent reports Volkov as saying.
