Russian Avanesyan Loses to Ennis in IBF Title Fight

Russian boxer David Avanesyan lost to Jaron Ennis from the USA in a fight for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) world champion title in the welterweight category (up to 66.68 kg).
The fight took place in Philadelphia and ended with Avanesyan refusing to continue the fight after the fifth round.
Ennis became the full owner of the IBF belt, having previously held the title of interim world champion.
For 35-year-old Avanesyan, this defeat was the fifth in his career with 30 wins and one draw. 27-year-old Ennis won 32 of 33 fights, with one fight declared a no contest.
