Kamotsky on winning the slap league: “This is my best punch so far. The opponent was lying down for a couple of minutes, we didn’t even count”

Russian Vasily Kamotsky, known by the nickname Pelmen, admitted in an interview with Match TV that he delivered his best punch of his career in the Power Slap league.

Kamotsky, 34, became the first representative of Russia to compete in Dana White’s promotion. In his debut fight on June 28 in Las Vegas, Vasily knocked out Pole Kamil Marusarz with the first punch.

— Would you call this your best hit?

– I think this is my best punch so far. I haven’t done better. There were some good punches in Krasnoyarsk, but people stood up after that, and after that punch the opponent lay down for a couple of minutes.

— Does the slapping blow have any technique?

— Alexander Volkov and I prepared so that everything would be conscious, to control the legs, the body… So that the legs would stand and the heel would not turn, like in boxing, because that would be a foul. And it was necessary not to hit the ear or the eye or the neck. The main thing was that the palm would lie completely on the cheek. I didn’t understand how I hit it right after the blow, but then I saw that he was falling. Well, that’s it. I looked, they didn’t even count anymore. Then I started to rejoice, — the Match TV website quotes Kamotsky as saying.
