Russian wrestler Shamil Mamedov has accepted the IOC invitation to compete at the Olympic Games in Paris
Russian freestyle wrestler Shamil Mamedov has accepted an invitation from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to compete at the Games in Paris, the IOC website reports.
The Russian Wrestling Federation (RWF) announced last week that Russian wrestlers will not compete in the French capital.
According to information published on the IOC website, eight wrestlers declined previously accepted invitations. However, Mamedov is still listed as an athlete who has agreed to participate in the Games.
The Games in Paris will be held from July 26 to August 11.
