The manager of a number of Russian fighters, Vitaly Tarasov, in a conversation with Match TV stated that a fourth meeting between Magomed Ismailov and Vladimir Mineev would be unnecessary.

On Saturday in Moscow, Mineev defeated Ismailov by unanimous decision in a boxing match as part of the PULSE UP Boxing tournament. During the fight, Ismailov was counted knocked down several times. Mineev and Ismailov have previously met twice in the cage. Their first fight, which took place in October 2018 at the Fight Nights Global 90 tournament, ended in a draw. The second fight between Mineev and Ismailov took place in October 2021 at the AMC Fight Nights 105 tournament. Mineev won this fight by technical knockout in the third round.

— To be honest, my expectations for this fight were low. It seemed that the story had already outlived itself a bit, and in the boxing format of Mineev and Ismailov it was not so interesting to watch, but in fact both the show as a whole and their fight in particular were successful. Vladimir’s victory seemed to be predicted, but the fight pattern was largely unpredictable.

It was already clear in the third round that Ismailov would have a hard time. When Magomed fell in the fourth round, I thought it was the end. But he got up again and again, continued to fight, grabbed opportunities and showed real character. Vladimir’s boxing class allowed him to confidently take the victory and another big purse. I would not like to see their fourth fight, but who knows how it will all be presented next time. It is possible that the story is not over, – Tarasov told Match TV.

The boxing match between Mineev and Ismailov was broadcast live by the Match TV channel.
