IBA President Kremlev: “The IOC is simply afraid of me. Bach sent letters to federations asking them not to communicate with me”

The President of the International Boxing Association (IBA) Umar Kremlev stated that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) is afraid of him, which is why they are applying sanctions against the IBA.

On Tuesday, at the 142nd IOC Session in Paris, a decision was made to exclude the IBA from the list of recognized international federations.

“Why did the IOC make such a decision? They are simply afraid of me. Thomas Bach sent letters to federations asking them not to communicate with me. This is so stupid and funny,” a Match TV correspondent reports Kremlev as saying.

In April, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) rejected the IBA’s appeal against the IOC Session’s decision to revoke its recognition. In 2019, the IOC temporarily revoked the IBA’s recognition status due to economic reasons and a management crisis within the organization, and also put forward demands for reforms.

Russian and Belarusian boxers, in accordance with the decision of the International Boxing Association (IBA), compete in international competitions with national symbols.

INOUE: “I’m tired. I had to prepare very hard for these 4 matches in a year.”

Japanese boxer after fight in Riyadh Naoya Inoue He shared his impressions of his victory over Mexican David Picasso (119–109, 120–108, 117–111):

“Honestly, I’m tired. The point wasn’t that I had four fights a year, it was that I had to prepare very hard for each of those four fights. When you’re in this process, you tolerate it because you only think about the fight, but now that it’s over, I see that I definitely gave it everything I had.”

“I don’t want to disrespect Picasso, but I wanted to show the difference between us a little more clearly and knock him out. I couldn’t meet the expectations and I couldn’t box the way I wanted. Nothing has been decided yet, but I would be happy to organize a fight that will excite the whole of Japan.”

Japanese Junto Nakatani He talked about his victory over Sebastian Hernandez (118-110, 115-113, 115-113):

“This fight was an experience for me. I moved up to this weight class to win a championship, so if I get that chance, I want to take it.”
