Terence Crawford Becomes WBA Light Middleweight Champion by Defeating Israil Madrimov

American Terence Crawford defeated Israil Madrimov from Uzbekistan in the main fight of the professional boxing evening in Los Angeles (USA).

After 12 rounds, the judges unanimously gave the victory to Crawford. The scorecards read: 116:112, 115:113 (twice). Thus, the American took the WBA world champion belt in the first middleweight category from Madrimov, as well as the WBO interim title in the first middleweight category. Crawford became world champion in four weight categories.

Crawford is 36 years old, he has had 41 fights in the professional ring and won the same number of victories. He previously became the world champion in the lightweight division, as well as the absolute world champion in the light welterweight and welterweight divisions. 29-year-old Madrimov suffered the first defeat in his career. He also has 10 wins and one draw.

In the co-main event of the evening, US representative Jose Valenzuela defeated Mexican Isaac Cruz by split decision and won the WBA world champion belt in the light welterweight division.

In another fight of the tournament, former world heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr. of the United States failed to defeat his compatriot Jarrell Miller. The fight ended in a draw, with one judge giving the victory to Miller with a score of 116–112, and the other two giving a draw score of 114–114.
