The ex-wife of World Boxing Association (WBA) light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol, Ekaterina, called for the cancellation of the Russian athlete’s fight with compatriot Artur Beterbiev.

In June 2023, Bivol announced that she had split from the boxer after more than 15 years of marriage. They raised two sons together. Bivol’s fight with Beterbiev was originally scheduled for June 1, but was later postponed due to Artur’s injury. The fight is now scheduled for October 12 in Riyadh.
