Boxer Amineva announces intention to compete at 2028 Olympics

Russian Azalia Amineva has spoken about her desire to take part in the boxing tournament at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Amineva is 21 years old. She is the winner of the BRICS Games in the weight category up to 66 kg.

— Do you intend to go professional or will you combine it with an amateur career? I am not going to give up competing as an amateur. Moreover, I hope to get to the next Olympics, which will be held in Los Angeles. But on the condition that Russia is admitted with an anthem and flag. This is a fundamental position of both our federation and the athletes themselves. This is our pride, we are fighting for the country, so the option of traveling in a neutral status is not being considered, — RT quotes Amineva as saying.

Russian boxers have refused to compete at the 2024 Olympics in Paris due to eligibility requirements.
