The show will take place on Thursday, August 8, in Ufa. In the main fight of the evening, Artur Subkhankulov will defend the IBA European Champion belt in the weight category up to 60 kg against Roland Galos. The fight is scheduled for eight rounds. Subkhankulov’s weight was 59.9 kg, and that of Tokyo Olympic Games participant Galos – 59.5 kg.
“There are concerns because I will be facing an experienced opponent,” Subkhankulov said. “But I am 100% prepared. I believe that I can handle this opponent. I am very well prepared! I will be performing at home in front of my home crowd, and that will help me. And I am confident in myself. But you shouldn’t confuse confidence with overconfidence.”
Two-time Russian champion, winner of the 2024 BRICS Games, champion of the 2023 Bolivarian ALBA Games Azalia Amineva will make her debut in the professional ring as part of this show. The 21-year-old athlete will face Rehema Abdallah from Tanzania in a 6-round ranking fight in the 66 kg weight class. Amineva weighs 66 kg, while her opponent weighs 63.5 kg. Ahead of her fight, Amineva recorded a video message with a prize of a rematch with Iman Khelif, who represents Algeria, to whom she lost in the 1/8 finals of the 2023 World Championship. However, during that tournament, Khelif was disqualified as a result of a gender test – it was proven that the athlete has XY chromosomes. Khelif has already reached the final at the Olympics in Paris.
“After August 8, I am ready to take revenge on Iman Khelif any day. Do I look behind my opponent’s back? We will definitely figure it out tomorrow, no doubt,” said Azalia Amineva.
Silver medalist of the 2021 and 2024 World Championships Dzhambulat Bizhamov (1-0) will face undefeated Colombian Juan Narvaez (8-0, KO 8) in an 8-round fight in the 75 kg weight class. Bizhamov weighs 74.9 kg, while the Latin American weighs 74.5 kg.
“I can’t wait for the upcoming fight, I’m in anticipation,” said Bizhamov. “The weight has been made, all that’s left is to step into the ring and show my skills. I’m interested in professional boxing, and it wasn’t a problem to switch from Olympic. Plus, I have one professional fight under my belt. Honestly, I don’t know my opponent because I couldn’t find his fights on the Internet. I was preparing for everything.”
The 2021 World Championship finalist, 2021 Russian Champion Vadim Musaev will challenge Paulus Amavila from Tanzania for the WBA Asia belt in the first middleweight division in a 10-round fight. Musaev weighs 66.45 kg, while Amavila weighs 66.5 kg.
Russian Danis Gabdrafikov will face 2023 World Championship bronze medalist Michelt Battumir from Mongolia in a 6-round rating bout in the 67 kg weight class. Gabdrafikov weighs 66.5 kg, while Battumir weighs 67 kg. Subkhankulov, Gabdrafikov and Amineva represent the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The show “Liga Stavok. IBA Champions Night” in Ufa will open with a 6-round fight in the weight category up to 63.5 kg between 19-year-old Egor Kozorezov, winner of the Russian championship for 19-22 years old, and Akshay Chahal from India. Both boxers showed the same weight – 63.5 kg.
The tournament on August 8 will be organized by the International Boxing Association (IBA), Iron&Gloves Promotions and Dynamo Boxing Promotions with the support of the Russian Boxing Federation. The general partner will be the bookmaker company “Liga Stavok”. The show in Ufa will be broadcast live on the Match TV channel, the broadcast starts at 17:30 Moscow time.
