“Many doctors said that it was necessary to remove the eye” – the Kremlin about the operation of boxer Dvali
President of the International Boxing Association (IBA) Umar Kremlev thanked the doctors for the operation performed on Dmitry Dvali, during which the athlete managed to save his eye.
Earlier, 23-year-old Dvali was seriously injured in a fight in Feodosia – doctors diagnosed him with a fracture of the orbital bone. It was reported that the boxer stood up for the boy who was being beaten by the crowd. Dvali underwent surgery on August 7, and doctors managed to save his eye. The athlete will have another operation.
— We visited Dmitry Dvali after his successful eye surgery. Many thanks to the skill of Yusef Naim Yusef, his team and the clinic, where they did this most complex and delicate work to restore and save the eye.
Many doctors refused, many said that it was necessary to operate and remove the eye, but only here, under the strict guidance of Yusef Naim Yusef, was it possible to save Dima’s eye!
“Boxers don’t abandon their own” – that’s what we say, and these are not empty words. This is the principle of every loving family, in which everyone should take care of each other. And there is no such job in which there would be absolutely no time to visit family and friends.
We are all one big boxing family! Therefore, Dima and I advise you not to look for excuses and not to distance yourself from your family, because we are all we have! — the Kremlin wrote on the Telegram channel.
In early August, the Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, signed an order to award Dvali with the departmental medal “Valor and Courage.”
Dvali is the 2024 European champion and the 2023 world bronze medalist.
